Heat ionized dust up significantly and you'll get plasma. Plasma is the term used for loose electrons, unbounded atomic nucleuses, and free subatomic particles with temperatures increasing in that order.

In my mind, dust is mostly loosely supsended clumps of ionized material in a gaseous medium, typically of larger than the nanometer scale up to millimeter size, which typically settles under a gravitational field or is drawn towards/away from electrostatic fields.Quantum_Fluxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09383025356536602044noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2100054477013501859.post-40647441551808128702009-05-20T13:56:33.573-07:002009-05-20T13:56:33.573-07:00QF,

The difference is in the number of electrons that have been stripped away from the atomic nucleus. It is most likely ionized dust and gas that we're looking at, the more electrons stripped the hotter the gas and dust needs to be. That temperature is something that can be deduced by photospectral analysis, based on the average frequency of the photons.Quantum_Fluxhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09383025356536602044noreply@blogger.com
