Little Star Lost

Stephen Smith: Little Star Lost

Astronomical theories predict that a planetary nebula in the constellation Centaurus should harbor a white dwarf star at its center. However, such a star cannot be found.

NASA scientists are on the hunt for a missing star. A recent press release from researchers operating the Hubble Space Telescope has described SuWt 2 as a luminous ring of dust and gas with hourglass-shaped longitudinal discharges. Astrophysicists expected the nebular material to be shining because of extreme ultraviolet radiation from a white dwarf star at its center. However, no such star is there and the ultraviolet light has not been detected.

The nebular ring (or spherical shell) does contain a pair of stars in orbit about a common center of gravity, moving at a velocity of one revolution every five days. The stellar pair is more than 100 times brighter than the Sun and nearly three times hotter. Although the stars are so hot and shine so brightly, the radiation is not powerful enough to energize the nebula. As NASA investigators assume, only a flood of ultraviolet light, such as that from the missing white dwarf, could do that.

Since their initial discovery 200 or more years ago, planetary nebulae have demonstrated behaviors and characteristics that are not easy to explain. They exhibit helical loops, rings, bubbles, jets, lobes and many other features that seem to trump standard theories. They are said to be composed of hot gas and owe their morphology to the influence of shockwaves from exploding stars or the pressure from stellar winds blowing through them. In some cases, the nebular forms are described as “like a windsock” inflated by a strong breeze.

Astronomical theories do not yet have a mechanism for the nebular clouds and energetic emissions that have been found. They do not know how stars “shrug off” their outer layers or how they eject lobate structures from their polar axes. The reason for the misunderstanding is that nebulae are composed not of hot gas, but of plasma. Gases obey the laws of kinetic motion: molecules bump into each other due to thermal energy or they are accelerated by the impetus imparted by other fast-moving particles.

Plasma behaves in accordance with the laws of electricity rather than Newtonian physics. Stars are created within Birkeland currents that flow in a great circuit through the galaxy. The Bennett pinch effect squeezes plasma inside these cosmic “transmission lines” in space, igniting stars and forming toroidal currents around the stellar equators. It is actually the electrical current density that causes the plasma in nebular rings and shells to glow.

According to the Electric Universe hypothesis, SuWt 2 is actually an hourglass-shaped toroid viewed in perspective. The binary star in the center of the nebula generates a current sheet along the system’s equatorial plane that astronomers have misidentified as a stellar wind. The Birkeland currents pass through regions of greater density in the disc of gases around the twin stars, causing the disc to light up in a bright ring like a searchlight illuminating clouds in the sky. As the publicized observations have confirmed, the ring is not lit by ultraviolet radiation.
And here's another example of science getting it wrong: Ancient Galactic Magnetic Fields Stronger than Expected.

"It was thought that, looking back in the past, earlier galaxies would not have generated much magnetic field," Kronberg said. "The results of this study show that the magnetic fields within Milky Way-like galaxies have been every bit as strong over the last two-thirds of the Universe's age as they are now-and possibly even stronger then."

Serving as a looking glass into the past, the powerful telescope at the European Southern Observatory, adding to the radio RM data, allowed the scientists to make observations of high magnetic fields between 8 billion and 9 billion years ago for 70 intervening galaxies whose faint optical absorption spectra revealed them as "normal" galaxies. That means that several billion years before the existence of our own sun, and within only a few billion years of the Big Bang, ancient galaxies were exerting the tug of these strong magnetic fields.

This research suggests that the magnetic fields in galaxies did not arise due to a slow, large-scale dynamo effect, which would have taken 5 billion to 10 billion years to reach their current measured levels. "There must be some other explanation for a much quicker and earlier amplification of galactic magnetic fields," Kronberg said. "From the time when the first stars and galaxies formed, their magnetic fields have probably have been amplified by very fast dynamos. One good possibility is that it happened in the explosive outflows that were driven by supernovae, and possibly even black holes in the very earliest generations of galaxies."

This realization brings a new focus on the broader question of how galaxies form. Instead of the commonly held view that magnetic fields have little relevance to the genesis of new galaxies, it now appears that they are indeed important players.

    Great post.

For those that want to see laboratory results:

"Because plasma in laboratory experiments forms cellular structures separated by thin walls of oppositely charged layers (called double layers), it is probable that the same thing happens in nebulae. Asserting that case will be impossible for many decades to come because there is no way to be absolutely sure without placing a Langmuir probe into a nebula and measuring the electric current differential. However, examples of plasma behavior in space that correspond to laboratory observations include magnetospheres, comet tails, x-rays from Saturn’s rings, and the Sun’s photosphere."

    Specifically:

"However, examples of plasma behavior in space that correspond to laboratory observations include magnetospheres, comet tails, x-rays from Saturn’s rings, and the Sun’s photosphere."

Seems Plasma Universe theory has more laboratory observations that correspond to astronomical features than the "black hole, big bang" cosmology does.

Remember, Kristian Birkeland performed his Terrela experiments with a magnetized globe in a vacuum which helped explain the Northern Lights.

Plasma Universe theory has been supported by laboratory experiments every step of the way.

  2. 10,000 B.C.

"It is the Thunderbolt that steers the Universe." -- Heraclitus, ca 500 B.C.

Zeus was the most powerful god of the Greeks. God of thunder and lightning, his seat of authority in the sky.

    WARNING: speculative.

Rumors and rumors of rumors of a time before recorded time.

10,000 B.C. or thereabouts, Earth was locked into an ice age and Man was a small creature on a large, unforgiving and hostile planet.

But about that time something happened in a far-off corner, whether it be a corner of the Milky Way Galaxy or someplace even farther out.

But the repercussions of that event would be felt, here, on Earth.

Our star, the Sun was at a low ebb of electrical power because the electrical plasma flow or circuit in the Milky Way galaxy had ever so slightly ebbed.

An ice age was the result.

But as the Sun was at a low ebb, an electrical discharge was sent its way through the circuits that connect the Milky Way galaxy to the Sun. Where from no one can know.

This was not any ol' discharge, it was big and it reverberated throughout the Milky Way like ringing a big brass bell, but perhaps the ringing was thrown the Sun's way

This recharged the Sun's battery, so to speak. But in turn it also caused the Sun to send out a electrical discharge of its own.

Electrical charges build up, but then discharge like an electrical capacitor.

This electrical discharge from the Sun flowed in part to the Earth, but also the other planets in the Solar sytem.

The effects were dramatic for good and ill.

Lightning storms flared up in a way not seen by Man today.

Not only were electrical discharges flowing into the Earth, but also out of the Earth. The atmosphere, but maybe more important, the Earth itself was heating up.

The ice was beginning to melt.

Chemical reactions that had been happening deep in the Earth since time in memorial began to speed up.

Volcanoes became extremely active, earthquakes, tornadoes, and hurricanes increased to unimaginable levels.

But nothing compared to the lightning and thunder -- day and night -- every day and night.

Lightning striking the ground with thunderous roars, but also at times streaming out of the ground to the sky.

The Northen lights covered the whole sky.

The planets and the moon always visible, now became glowing bright orbs that at times seemed to sparkle and dance.

    Comets' tails lengthened.

Hell on Earth had come to the small creature known as Man.

    Beyond all comprehension.

It made a big impression on the brain and senses of Man.

Placating this ferocious Earth was a must.

Seeps of oil in locals on the great rifts of the world were springing to life. Below, in the bowels of the Earth, electrical currents caused hydrocarbon formation on scales rarely reached before, and other mineral processes also sped up.

Multiple volcanic eruptions in areas where only intermittant eruptions happened before.

Moutains that weren't volcanic and had been quiet, stolid, and unmoving began to have regular tremors and rock falls, at places it seemed the naked eye could see them grow.

Gold and silver flowed in the veins of mountains.

And the ice continued to melt, raising sea levels and causing great floods and seemingly endless rain storms chalk full of lightning and thunder.

    Man was sore afraid.

All civilzations up until the Jewish faith arose in the desert had worshipped multiple gods, the strongest almost invariably being the god of the sky and lightning and thunder whatever guise or name he went by, lord of the pantheon.

Over time the thunder died down and the Earth became quiet again, but Man did not soon forget the terrible cataclysm.

10,000 B.C., the sky ran bight.

When will another giant electrical discharge flow into the Sun and thus into and out of the Earth and the other planets of the Solar system?

    No one knows.

  3. MATCHING THE COLORS IN THE RAINBOW

    OilIsMastery:

I have a question: Are the colors in the picture an accurate representation?

If so, then it seems the colors in the nebula are eerily similar to the colors produced prior to the Sichuan earthquake in China.

See Oil Is Mastery Post: Methane Clouds Signal Earthquake, June 9, 2008. There is a YouTube video which shows the pinkish aurora like haze (after the video is done, one can select other videos showing the same pinkish haze).

Compare the picture of the nebula and the Sichan earthquake video.

They both have the same almost rainbow quality.

It would seem to me another line of evidence connecting phenomenon, here, on Earth to phenomenon in space with the common denominator being that each can be explained using Plasma Universe theory.

A trinity is forming, in cascading order: Plasma Universe theory, Expanding Earth theory, and Abiotic Oil theory.

(Little brother Abiotic Oil theory makes up for it by having the biggest economic punch of them all.)

Plasma Universe theory provides the dynamic energy and mass for Expanding Earth theory and also the dynamic energy which partly explains Abiotic Oil theory.

Plasma Universe theory also provides an explanation and mechanism for evidence that Earth has periods of increased volcanic activity.

Something, you may recall, I described with the term Volcanic Activity Continuum.

But at that point, I didn't have a mechanism to explain why the Earth had evidence of a Volcanic Activity Continuum.

Standard geologic models don't provide a reason why the Earth has periods of intense geologic activity, in fact according to those standard models Earth should continuously cool and slowly diminish in geological activity.

Instead, the geological record suggests definite periods of intense geological activity.

Plasma Universe theory supplies a mechanism to explain these intense periods, which incidently, the geologic record also suggests were the periods with the most Abiotic hydrocarbon production.

It's amazing how all three of these theories are coming together!

  4. POSTSCRIPT TO 10,000 B.C.

There has been scholarly work on along the lines suggested in the 10,000 B.C. story. Except for a crucial difference, instead of the plasma discharge bringing Man and the planet out of an ice age, it caused Man to fall out of what had been a paradise of ideal weather and climate into a fury of hell.

    Interesting, provacative, and thought provoking.

Take a look -- what would Man's reaction have been to such celestial splendor?

    Reverence?

The symbols would seem to bear that out.
