Archimedean Calculus
Newton was a plagiarist. Alchemy and calculus are ancient wisdom.
Also, (4/3)*Pi*r^3 / (2*r)*Pi*r^2 = 2/3, I'm not arguing here I'm just verifying the relation between the volume of a sphere to the volume of a cylinder that exactly contains it.
Interesting, OIM, however I don't think that people can claim mathematical and scientific discoveries as intellectual property merely because those are discoveries of pre-existing truths rather than the creation of new designs.
Perhaps alchemy was an ancient form of banking.

ReplyDeleter u familiar? Gravity/mechanical centred, but interesting perturbations mentioned a few articles in.
Did Archimedes compute the circumference of an ellipse?
ReplyDeleteEasily. Apollonius of Perga was his contemporary.
