Science Daily: Earth's Atmosphere Came from Outer Space, Scientists Find.
ScienceDaily (Dec. 11, 2009) — The gases which formed the Earth's atmosphere -- and probably its oceans -- did not come from inside the Earth but from outer space, according to a study by University of Manchester and University of Houston scientists. How can the Earth gain matter from outerspace without growing? I guess the particles have negative mass.
The report published in the journal Science means that textbook images of ancient Earth with huge volcanoes spewing gas into the atmosphere will have to be rethought.
According to the team, the age-old view that volcanoes were the source of the Earth's earliest atmosphere must be put to rest.
OIM,
ReplyDeleteYou really are beamfucked! Earth formed from the rocks, dusts, gases and other stuff from a primordial disc of the whole solar system...
How Earth's atmosphere was formed is what is investigated, not the BS of (self)expanding Earth... And, it is by the scientists, and not by the beamfucked bsers like you...
KV,
ReplyDeleteSo you claim that the atmosphere of the Earth did not come from outerspace or do you claim that the atoms from outerspace have negative mass?
KV what are the maths involved in the disk and where did all the momentum from the magical spinning disk go?
ReplyDeleteStars split apart and give birth to planets.
The Sun has provided much H2 O2 and other gases. Where did all the ice come from at the Antartic? It never snows there! Too dry.
Fungus:
ReplyDeleteWhere did all the ice come from at the Antartic? It never snows there! Too dry.
Wrong.
.:Precipitation, nearly all as snow, occurs frequently over much of Antarctica, but is light.
.:The total fall varies considerably from year to year. The scantiness of the snowfall is evident on the polar plateau, where over large areas annual amounts are less than 3 centimeters (water-equivalent).
.:Annual snow accumulation on Ross Island averages 17.6 centimeters in water equivalent, but accumulation over the polar plateau to the west of the Dry Valleys is considerably less.
.:Within the Dry Valleys most of the snowfall is associated with humid easterly winds blowing off the Ross Sea.
Oils,
ReplyDeleteSaying the atmosphere has an origin in space and saying the solid parts of the planet have doubled in size over 200 million years are two very different things. As usual, you are grasping at straws.
But you go right ahead, claim all the little victories you can. It suits you.
As for the Nebular Hypothesis there is still plenty left to explain.
ReplyDeleteMagnetic fields in proto-stellar disks may alleviate a number of the hypothesis' problems, including the transfer of angular momentum. Most likely, momentum is transfered to the outer edges of the disks and matter is spun off into space in the form of comets. Deep intersteller space is probably full of cometary matter of about 1cm in size.
If only we didn't have so many damned pictures of the fucking disks and the planets around other stars.
No matter how much folks want to believe Special Creation or stars belching out planets, the simple fact that we can watch solar systems forming in space from disks trumps all of that nonsense.
Jeffery,
ReplyDeleteDo you claim the particles from outerspace have negative mass?
OIM,
ReplyDeleteAccording to your stupid logic in the question, the earth did not form from a primordial disc but was made by the whimps! From what? The negative mass! And, here is a baffoon - that is you - who keeps denying all the science, yet distortingly uses all the concepts of science, as well as, arts and faiths derogately...
And, I don't have time to check spellings for you...
FF
ReplyDeleteYou are smart enough to figure this all out by yourself...
The way to pure stupidity is to believe others that you can figure out for yourself. Others like OIM know this and exploit it by providing ready made capsules with stuff that empowers them. That is why we have religions, and whimps, and beamfucks.
KV,
ReplyDelete"Since planets and moons did not pop into existence at their current size, everyone agrees they must have expanded at some point in their history." -- Dennis J. McCarthy, geoscientist, November 2005
Do you claim the particles from outerspace have negative mass?
ReplyDeleteNope.
Where did I say it? Go back and read what I said. Gaining an atmosphere from impacts and doubling in size are two different things. You EEdiots are married to this stupid notion of yours, and you grab any old quote that serves your purpose.
Yes, planets do grow from molecules, to dust, to centimeter-scale to planetisimals to gas giants. Then they stop, unless something slams into them. Read up on the Late Heavy Bombardment as I've asked you to do many times.
They do not add mass from some (up to now) mythological plasma accretion that you can show no evidence of.
OIM,
ReplyDeleteYou posted: "Since planets and moons did not pop into existence at their current size, everyone agrees they must have expanded at some point in their history." -- Dennis J. McCarthy, geoscientist, November 2005
Can I apply this to your non-immaculate conception, where you kept expanding until the lady could not take it anymore, and pushed you out?
If you have an issue with the geoscientist McCarthy, deal with him directly!
Now for your beamfucked brain to go look up accretion
Jeffery,
ReplyDelete"They do not add mass from some (up to now) mythological plasma accretion that you can show no evidence of."
This contradicts your claim that you do not believe the particles from outerspace have negative mass.
KV,
ReplyDelete"go look up accretion"
You don't believe in accretion because accretion would cause the Earth to grow.
OIM,
ReplyDeleteSo you believe in accretion and it is a start. What you now need to know that nobody beamfucked Earth, and it accumulated as a body through processes that are knowable if you open your mind close your mouth.
This contradicts your claim that you do not believe the particles from outerspace have negative mass.
ReplyDeleteI do not see how. But thankfully, your opinion is meaningless to serious discussion.
