Why Hasn't Earth Warmed as Much as Expected?

Science Daily: Why Hasn't Earth Warmed as Much as Expected? New Report on Climate Change Explores the Reasons.

ScienceDaily (Jan. 19, 2010) — Planet Earth has warmed much less than expected during the industrial era based on current best estimates of Earth's "climate sensitivity" -- the amount of global temperature increase expected in response to a given rise in atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide (CO2). In a study to be published in the Journal of Climate, a publication of the American Meteorological Society, Stephen Schwartz, of Brookhaven National Laboratory, and colleagues examine the reasons for this discrepancy.

  1. Because CO2 and CH4 etc do not affect the atmosphere very much at all and their potential warming effect is tiny, requiring many more times the current load in the atmosphere. Qhich we may supply over the next decades especially as the earth has entered a cooling cycle reflecting (!) the loss of energy from the Sun. This is an X-ray variable and we are in a rather quiet time. In previous minima we had famine and war allas a result of poor weather and loss in agriculture. But back then we tortured Jews for being ... too jewish. Now we torture supposed Islamic terrorists to .... errr anyone help here?

Anyway it is just great to see how the christians have progressed so well!

  2. Jan. 20 (Bloomberg) -- William “Tex” Moncrief, the billionaire wildcatter and scion of one of the founding families of the Texas oil industry, is betting the key to finding new gushers is to go deeper than anyone has gone before.

Moncrief agreed in September to help finance McMoRan Exploration Co.’s $70 million Davy Jones well off the Louisiana coast in exchange for a 10 percent stake in the prospect. The gamble paid off last week, when New Orleans-based McMoRan said the well hit what may be one of the biggest Gulf of Mexico oil and gas discoveries in decades.

  3. Actually, it is almost impossible to say that CO2 emissions are the primary cause of global warming.

Anywho, I wonder how many of you people subscribe to the TRUTH of Complexity Theory? Experience has shown me that none of you have ever incorporated Complexity Theory (Non-linear Dynamic/Mathematics to describe the behavior of Complex Systems.)
