Seafaring Cavemen Contradict Evolution

"Today’s obsession with ‘progress’ – a straight line from one accomplishment to another – blinds us to the lost realities of our past. Our research reveals a legacy closer to the ideas of the ancients." -- Rand and Rose Flem-Ath, scholars, 2010

Pringle, H., Primitive Humans Conquered Sea Surprising Finds Suggest, National Geographic, Feb 2010

Prehistoric axes found on a Greek island suggest that seafaring existed in the Mediterranean more than a hundred thousand years earlier than thought. ...

Crete has been surrounded by vast stretches of sea for some five million years. The discovery of the hand ax suggests that people besides technologically modern humans—possibly Homo heidelbergensis—island-hopped across the Mediterranean tens of thousands of millennia earlier than expected.

Many researchers have hypothesized that the early humans of this time period were not capable of devising boats or navigating across open water. But the new discoveries hint that these human ancestors were capable of much more sophisticated behavior than their relatively simple stone tools would suggest.

"I was flabbergasted," said Boston University archaeologist and stone-tool expert Curtis Runnels. "The idea of finding tools from this very early time period on Crete was about as believable as finding an iPod in King Tut's tomb."
UPDATE: Until now, scientists honestly believed boats evolved in 5000 B.C.

  1. This doesn't contradict evolution.

This contradicts ideas about our ancestors, but not that we evolved from apes.

    You fail again! Yay!

  2. Evolution says humans were illiterate retarded cave apes until they magically and miraculously evolved writing for no reason in 5000 B.C.

    Evolution fail.

  4. OIM,

What about the wimps? Didn't they mess around to create man, the beast for their burden, to dig trenches that EVOLVED into rivers!

  5. OIM,

Are you going to tell us who is in your icon pic?

Since I teach you something new everyday, his name is Captain Sir Richard Francis Burton.

That's not evolution. That's paleoanthropology. Understanding comes with study. Legions of folks are digging for clues all over the world, and every day, those clues lead to a mountain of evidence that evolution happened, is happening and will continue to happen.

Nothing in your deluded, myth-clouded mind can change that.

You are irrelevant to the discussion.

  8. Jeffery,

So you think literacy never evolved?

  9. OIM,

Why did you select Burton, and not all the ancients available to you?

Have you read The Jew by Burton?

One day, you'll say something that makes sense.

Just as your first, christian?, name has evolved from "Geoffrey", mistakes accumulate, but that is not necessarily evolution......

Some knowledge is regarded as dangerous. It is withheld as a wise parent does with a child. This enables the lodges to propagate the idea that they can control humanity. We have seen what happened to knowledge of nuclear reactions .... As a result the commoners have the idea that the sun exists as a result of this their geatest known force, Force!

Some knowledge is not propagated or else it is twisted. Some secrets are guarded. Electromagnetism was revealed as dangerous a long time ago, and serious social control was introduced as a result. This has been successful, but since 99% of all "scientists" are now alive, we need to consider that all secret knowledge is in danger of being a secret no longer.

Mind you, some will never learn, but it only takes a few to lead and many will follow, as humans are rather bovine.

By the way "Evolution" is a concept and has np voice or volition, another human trait is to make nouns into persons! Anthropogenesis!

  12. Humans have been literate for hundreds of thousands of years if not millions of years. No evolution.

You are wrong. There is no other way to say it. Just wrong.

We evolved from apelike ancestors. You. Me. Billy Dembski, the Pope, all of us. The evidence for evolution makes it the best supported science on the planet. Your denialism has been demonstrated time and again, yet you persist.

The literacy thing, you might have a point that symbols have been with us for a long time, perhaps even helping us communicate, to survive and adapt... but millions? No way. There is no evidence of this.
