Magical Tidal Forces

According to mainstream science:
1. Gravity answers all metaphysical questions (instead of 'God did it' just substitute gravity): gravity did it.
2. Dark Matter, Dark Energy, and Dark Flow explain all astronomical observations.
3. Tidal Forces explain all geological topography and falsifications of gravitation and plate tectonics.

Science Daily: Formation of Bulge on Far Side of Moon Explained.
ScienceDaily (Nov. 12, 2010) — A bulge of elevated topography on the far side of the moon -- known as the lunar far side highlands -- has defied explanation for decades. But a new study led by researchers at the University of California, Santa Cruz, shows that the highlands may be the result of tidal forces acting early in the moon's history when its solid outer crust floated on an ocean of liquid rock.
LOL. Nevermind the fact that this is utterly impossible.

"Below we will show some of the simple physical reasons why the present geodynamic and geotectonic paradigms are so dramatically wrong, and why continents cannot move like 'rafts' on a 'sea' of convecting semifluid hot mantle." -- Stavros T. Tassos (seismologist) and David J. Ford (geologist), 2005

How to create an authentic Oil Is Mastery Post:

1. Find an example of new evidence overturning ignorance, pushing back the boundaries of knowledge or a previous hypothesis.
2. State the new evidence is impossible, wrong or based on mythology or religious thought. If you can, insert clever internet slang such as Fail, LOL or OMG.
3. Counter the "glaring impossibility" with a statement suggesting dogmatic behavior on the part of mainstream researchers. Couple this with a quote from a discredited researcher, fringe theorist, long dead Greek thinker, religious source document or in extreme cases, Ann Coulter.
4. Profit.

JK,

OIM went in the wild to get yearly beamfucking. He will be unbearable for a while.

KV,
You are quite correct. I think I'll try to create a post using my rules. I have about 45 minutes left on my lunch hour. Let's see what I can come up with.

Scientists wrong about Age of the Solar System

Creationist Cosmologists admit to errors in dating methods. Their faith in science leads them to make up details and hide them in papers like this one.

The age of the Solar System can be defined as the time of formation of the first solid grains in the nebular disc surrounding the proto-Sun. This age is estimated by dating calcium–aluminium-rich inclusions in meteorites. These inclusions are considered as the earliest formed solids in the solar nebula. Their formation marks the beginning for several long- and short-lived radiogenic clocks that are used to precisely define the timescales of Solar System events, such as the formation and evolution of planetary bodies1, 2, 3. Here we present the 207Pb–206Pb isotope systematics in a calcium–aluminium-rich inclusion from the Northwest Africa 2364 CV3-group chondritic meteorite, which indicate that the inclusion formed 4,568.2 million years ago. This age is between 0.3 (refs 4, 5) and 1.9 (refs 1, 6) million years older than previous estimates and is the oldest age obtained for any Solar System object so far. We also determined the 26Al–26Mg model age of this inclusion, and find that it is identical to its absolute Pb–Pb age, implying that the short-lived radionuclide 26Al was homogeneously distributed in the nebular disc surrounding the proto-Sun. From the consistently old ages in the studied inclusion, we conclude that the proto-Sun and the nebular disc formed earlier than previously thought. -Audrey Bouvier & Meenakshi Wadhwa

Is is impossible for an iceberg to float in liquid water too?

Jeffery,

Howdy..

QF,

Is it possible for an iceberg to float on liquid magma?
